Description
Silk Suture is a sterile non-absorbable, braided suture composed of natural silk organic protein called fibroin. This protein is derived from the Bombyx mori species of silkworm, from the Bombycid family. The yarns are processed in order to remove the naturally enclosed sericin gum and waxes and then spun, braided and coated in silicone to provide a smooth surface and greater tensile strength.
The colour of Silk Non-absorbable Suture is black and white. The size is USP 8/0 to USP 2.

Indications

As the tensile strength of Silk Sutures will be greatly reduced over time, it should not be used when extensive suture support is necessary.
