Surgical waterproof orthopedic casting tape is a fixed orthopedic product made of medical polyurethane material. Compared with other bandages, Surgical waterproof orthopedic casting tape has good waterproof performance, which can prevent 85% of the water from infiltrating into the affected area. After contacting the water environment, it can also effectively ensure that the affected area is dry, and has good air permeability, light weight and easy to use. Surgical waterproof orthopedic casting tape produced by Shandong Haidike Medical Products Co., Ltd. is made of high elastic fiberglass cloth and dipped in polyurethane. It has no irritation to the skin, large mesh, good air permeability, waterproof, small shrinkage after drying. It will not produce the uncomfortable feeling of skin tightening and itching after drying of the plaster bandage, nor will gypsum absorb water during the hardening process. When recrystallization occurs, there is a thermal reaction, which causes the discomfort of burning the patient's skin.

Use Instruction

1. Apply 1-2 layers stockinet over the affected body part.

2. Wear surgical gloves.

3. Choose proper size surgical waterproof orthopedic casting tape, then open the package.

4. Immerse the casting tape in normal temperature ( 21ºC-24ºC ) water for 4-6 seconds and squeeze 2-3 times. Then remove from the water and squeeze out the excess water. The curing time of  surgical waterproof orthopedic casting tape is directly related to the temperature of water. Theuring time is shorter in high temperature water than in low temperature water. If the water temperature is over 27ºC, the curing time is too short to increase the difficulty of the operation
5. Wrap the casting tape spirally around the affected body part, overlapping the previous layer by one-half or two-thirds the width of the tape. The tension is moderate. If it is too loose, it will weaken the adhesion of surgical waterproof orthopedic casting tape. If it is too tight, it will affect the blood circulation.

6. The intensity of surgical waterproof orthopedic casting tape is related to the number of overlapped layers. Overlap 3-4 layers for the non-weight bearing parts, while overlap 5-6 layers for the weight bearing parts. If more layers are needed, please ensure the adhesivity between the layers.

7. To increase the adhesion between layers, the surgical waterproof orthopedic casting tape will be shaped after wrapped The operating time should be in 3-5 minutes. The adhesion and shaping effect cannot reach the best if the operating time is longer or the immersed time is too long. The patients do not allow to move freely in 10 minutes before the orthopedic casting tape are completely hardened.

8. The electric plaster saw is needed if the affected parts need to open a window or remove surgical waterproof orthopedic casting tape.
