Description

Polyglycolic Acid (PGA) is a sterile absorbable synthetic, multifilament suture composed of glycolic acid. The sutures are braided and coated with a blend of polycaprolate, copolymer of caprolactone and glycolide and Calcium Stearate.

The colour of PGA absorbable Suture is violet or undyed. The size is USP 8/0 to USP 4.

 

Characteristics

Absorbable suture is widely used in surgery, because it can be absorbed, so there is no need to remove the suture and avoid secondary pain. PAG absorbable suture has the following obvious characteristics:

Indications

PGA absorbable Sutures are indicated for use in ge-neral surgery. It is suitable for the coating of soft tissue and for ligation and also for use in ophthalmic procedures but not for use in cardiovascular tissue and neural tissue. Applicable also in gynecology, pediatric surgery, gastrointestinal surgery and also in odontology. The PGA surgical sutures are absorbable and it is not suitable for the parts that need suture support for too long time.

 

 

Properties

PGA absorbable Sutures have a high initial tensile strength, which is retained for up to 28 days, 70% of their tensilestrength by the 2nd week and 50% bythe 3rd week. After which absorption byhydrolysis begins, where the polymer degrades to glycolic acid, which is absorbedtotally by the body between 60-90 days.

In February 2010, Shanxian Runte Medical Instruments Co., Ltd. was founded and gradually grew into the largest import and export foreign trade company in Shanxian.

In November 2010, Shanxian Runkang Suture Material Co., Ltd. was established as the largest production base of catgut in Asia, and is known as the "National Torch Plan - the core enterprise of national suture material base".

In March 2013, Shanxian Runte Medical Instruments Co., Ltd. was awarded "Heze Innovative Enterprise".

In December 2014, Shanxian Runte Medical Instruments Co., Ltd. was supported by the government to enter the Shanxian Science and Technology Enterprise Incubation Park, and won the title of expert in the manufacture of polymer synthetic material suture.

In December 2016, Heze Yajie Medical Products Co., Ltd. was established, and filled the gap in the production of medical glass fiber bandages and splints.
